A Bilingual English-French Program

Our Montessori guides speak in English to your child while each Casa classroom has a French-speaking assistant that speaks to the students in French. This bilingual environment enables your child to begin developing a second language naturally.

Licensed Under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA)

Lyonsgate Montessori School’s Toddler and Casa Montessori programs are required to operate as a licensed child care centre and are regulated under the Child Care and Early Years Act.

Montessori Canada Accredited School

Lyonsgate Montessori School is an Montessori programme and is a fully accredited school through Montessori Canada.

All Staff Have Standard First Aid and C.P.R. Certification

Whether in the classroom, on the playground, or out in the community, your child will be supervised by staff that are certified with Standard First Aid and C.P.R. training.

Daily Snacks Provided

Students are provided light snack items daily, at no additional cost to families. Dietary restrictions and allergies are readily accommodated.

A.M.I Trained Montessori Guides

All Montessori guides at Lyonsgate have received Montessori training certified by the Association Montessori Internationale. A.M.I. is the only organization that is recognized internationally, and by the Montessori family. A.M.I. protects and adheres to the original Montessori approach developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.

Montessori Developed Music Program (The Bells)

An expensive-but-well-worth-it music program developed by Maria Montessori that not all Montessori schools offer. The bells are a middle C to high C scale of beauty. The children work with the bells to practice tone on tone matching, grading from low notes to high notes, and ultimately reading and writing music.

Parent Education Evenings

A big part of Montessori is feeling included in your child’s experience at school. Our parent education evenings offer a chance for parents to come into the classroom and learn more about the Montessori philosophy and approach, and of course to socialize and feel connected and supported.

Fenced Playground

Our fenced playground is directly attached to the school for the safety and security of your child.

Clean and Safe Environment

Staff at Lyonsgate Montessori School clean your child’s classroom throughout the day. The campus is also cleaned after hours each day by a contracted professional cleaning service.  Lyonsgate is also regularly inspected by Hamilton Public Health, and undergoes provincial water testing. We have high expectations when it comes to the environment you have chosen to put your child in.
